Gene Murrow
Caller

Gene Murrow has been an English country dancer and musician since 1965, and has taught and called at clubs, workshops, festivals, and balls throughout the United States as well as England, Scotland, Ireland, Europe, and Japan.  In 2004 he was honored as the featured country dance caller and teacher at the gala 50th anniversary of the Sidmouth International Festival.  He has toured England several times for calling engagements, and has appeared at the Eastbourne, Lichfield, Whitby, and Southam Festivals.  He made three tours of Japan to teach English dance, including the Folk Dance Federation of Japan national teacher workshops. As a dance musician, has made four CD recordings, and is the Producer of the series of English dance recordings featuring the Boston-based band Bare Necessities. Gene approaches the English country dance as a medium in which dancers and musicians alike participate in the realization of works of art.  His dance workshops strive to make their richness of structure, musical form, texture, and affect enjoyable and appreciated by dancers of all abilities.

Audrey Leigh Jaber
Fiddle

Audrey Leigh Jaber’s fiddling has electrified dance and concert halls across the US and Europe. Hailing from Honolulu and now living in California, she cut her folk teeth in the Boston area, attending Berklee College of Music and spending years exploring the thriving New England folk scene and beyond. She has performed at many folk music and dance festivals, camps, and events, including at Ashokan Center's Northern Week, Halsway Manor in England, and Pinewoods Dance and Music Camp. Audrey’s fiddle playing is lively and spontaneous; she's guaranteed to get you up and dancing.

Ben Schreiber
Fiddle

Ben Schreiber, a fiddler and tune writer rooted in the contra dance scene, brings a diverse musical palette influenced by his Midwest upbringing and years in the San Francisco Bay Area. Having started with the Suzuki method at an early age, Ben’s musical journey has been enriched through exploration of folk music. While best known for his contributions to contra dance bands such as Uncle Farmer, the Dam Beavers, Offbeats, and Potent Brew, he also performs with the newly-established chamber-folk trio, Long Story Short. Ben’s musical experience also extends into English country dancing, where he is a regular presence at local ECD dances, in addition to playing for workshops at various camps and weekends.

Jacob Chen
Keyboard

Jacob Chen is a public-school music educator, composer, dancer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Norman, Oklahoma. A classical pianist since the age of six, Jacob's early passion for music sparked an ongoing love of learning a wide array of instruments, from clarinet and guitar to mandolin, accordion, fiddle, bass guitar, and ukulele. His classical musical journey took a unique turn when he began playing for contra and English dances, immersing himself in the rich traditions of participatory music-making. His dedication to music as a communal experience has made him a sought-after presenter at workshops, dance camps, and folk events nationwide. Known for his warm, inclusive approach, Jacob effortlessly creates spaces where participants connect authentically through music and dance—respecting the traditions while infusing each gathering with joy and energy.
