What is Israeli Dance?
Step into a world of rhythm, community, and celebration through Israeli dance—a dance form that connects communities across generations and continents. All about unity and joy, these communal dances reflect a universal desire: to move in harmony, celebrate life, and connect with others. Instructor Shira Schwartz, a passionate educator, choreographer, and lifelong dancer trained in both Israel and the U.S. has decades of experience leading dance troupes and teaching students of all ages. She brings warmth, inclusivity, and cultural insight to every class.
Instructor: Shira Schwartz
What should I expect?
Each session begins with classic Israeli dances like the Hora and Mayim Mayim—simple, repetitive steps that are easy to follow and fun to perform. After the warm-up with instructor Shira Schwartz, we'll dive into one or two new dances, exploring their cultural stories and musical rhythms. You'll also have the chance to request your favorite dances, building a personal repertoire over time. No experience needed - come dance in community, celebrate diverse traditions, and experience the universal joy of moving together.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, lightweight clothing and soft-soled, non-marking shoes are recommended. Whether you're brand new or a seasoned dancer, you're warmly welcome—just bring your curiosity, your energy, and your dancing feet!
