Who is Hatsune Miku?
Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer and one of the world's most recognizable digital pop culture icons. Created in Japan in 2007 as a Vocaloid singing synthesizer, Miku's voice is powered by music software that allows creators around the world to compose original songs for her. Rather than being performed by a single artist, Hatsune Miku is brought to life by a global community of musicians, producers, illustrators, animators, and fans who continue to create new music, artwork, and performances.
Known for her signature turquoise twin-tails and energetic performances, Hatsune Miku has appeared in sold-out concerts around the world, collaborated with major artists and brands, and inspired millions of fans across music, gaming, anime, and digital art communities.
At Hatsune Miku International Folk Dance Party, we're celebrating that same spirit of creativity and community by bringing together Japanese-inspired music and the joy of international folk dance. Whether you're a longtime Miku fan, an anime enthusiast, a folk dancer, or simply curious to try something new, this beginner-friendly event welcomes everyone to dance, connect, and celebrate cultures through music and movement.
