Celebrate National Dance Day with a whole block filled with dance, music, art, and community at the Longfellow Dance Party! On Saturday, September 19 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Tapestry Folkdance Center and our neighbors are throwing open our doors for a FREE, family-friendly day of dancing, live music, performances, workshops, food, art, and fun. Happening alongside the Longfellow Art Crawl, it’s the perfect opportunity to spend the day exploring creativity throughout the neighborhood—discover local artists, experience different forms of dance and music, and see what makes Longfellow such a vibrant creative community. At the Dance Party, come learn a new dance, catch a performance, move to live music, make something with the kids, grab a bite, or simply see what catches your interest. Activities will take place throughout Tapestry’s studios and parking lot, Mactír Academy of Irish Dance, and Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre. No dance experience—or partner—is needed.
