The Playford Ball is an annual formal dress-up English Country Dance event in the Twin Cities featuring the live music of Coleraine, lovely savory and sweet treats at the breaks, and hall decorations that reflect the ball’s theme. This year’s theme is the Borealis Ball, in honor of the brilliant displays of the Northern Lights we’ve had recently. Perhaps add a touch of Borealis shimmer to your festive dress this year!

This event is for experienced English Country dancers. The 15 dances on the ball program will not be taught at the ball, only walked through. For your own dancing enjoyment (and that of others), please attend the teaching sessions on Sunday nights, 6:30–9, prior to the ball at Tapestry Folkdance Center, and the review session at Olivet from 2–4pm on the day of the ball.

The written instructions of the ball dances and links to online videos are available using the pdf, below, and will also be sent to you when you register for the ball online to reserve your place.
