June 23, 2009

Dear Tapestry Dancer,

I extend my deepest gratitude for your generous support ensuring Tapestry Folkdance Center's future. You affirmed the value of Tapestry's programs and their role in your quality of life. I am pleased to announce that our community impressively raised $25,000 within three months to meet operational costs for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2009. Thank you!

Dancers joined hands in various fundraising activities so that Tapestry remains a fiscally responsible and thriving nonprofit organization. Together, we accomplished much to meet the ongoing challenges that also are occurring in the greater economy. Additionally, Tapestry begins the next fiscal year with recent grant awards from The McKnight Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board.

Many individuals tirelessly volunteered with great joy to guarantee a successful fundraising drive to build a stronger dance community. While the list of donors and volunteers is impressive, I would like to personally thank a special Board member, Kian Dwyer, for her leadership and partnership. The creativity, dedication, and enthusiasm demonstrated by Kian and all of Tapestry's dancers ensured that this campaign was a success.

I am honored to serve Tapestry Folkdance Center and look forward to working with you to achieve great things by meeting new challenges and opportunities during the ensuing year.

Sincerely,

Melissa Mathews
Executive Director
