The Minnesota Country Dance Weekend features workshops and three big dances at beautiful Sokol hall in St.Paul. Kick up your heels at a contra dance on Friday night, a gala English country dance on Saturday night and a community dance on Sunday morning. Gain English country dance skill and technique at two Saturday workshops.  All dances feature live music. Cost of the entire weekend is $100. You can also pay for dances and workshops separately. We encourage you to bring snacks to share for the weekend. For information call Tom Riley, 952-938-2987. Please wear soft soled shoes or dance shoes, not street shoes.

Contra Dance
• 8 -11 p.m. Friday, Sept.30

Music by Stringdancer (David Kirchner, Martha Edwards, Pam Carson Stoll). Pam and Martha’s fiddles b ring high energy and beautiful creative harmonies together. They are a joy to listen to.

English Country Dance workshops
• 10 am-noon. Saturday, October 1
• 2- 4 p.m. Saturday, October 1
Music by Quantum Leaps (members of Stringdancer, Coleraine; Patrice Pakiz piano, Lorelei Giddings on oboe, Craig Daniels on guitar and other strings)

Gala English County dance ball
• 8 -11 p.m. Saturday, October 1
Fancy dress encouraged. Refreshments provided. Music by Harmonic Nebulizer (members of Stringdancer, Coleraine; Patrice Pakiz piano, Lorelei Giddings on oboe, Craig Daniels on guitar and other strings)

Community Dance
• 10 a.m. -1 p.m. Sunday, October 2
Contras, squares and English country.
Music by Black Hole (Stringdancer plus Pat O’Loughlin on banjo and concertina)

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

Sokol Hall is on the corner of Michigan St and West 7th St in St. Paul. Hwy 94 has an exit for West 7th (or take Kellogg from the west) and in both cases go South. Highway 35E has an exit for Michigan St.
