Come celebrate Pride at Tapestry Folk Dance Center as they welcome the LGBTQ community and friends to a Gender-Neutral Contra Dance. Tapestry answered the call of the community to host gender-neutral contra dancing with live music by Pat O'Loughlin and Friends with Robin Nelson calling. Dance the part you would like with the partner you choose or with whoever chooses you!
Contra Dancing is similar to old-time square dancing but is done in long lines. The music can be similar to bluegrass or can reflect the traditions of New England, the Canadian Maritimes or Ireland and Scotland. You will dance with, and meet countless friends, new and old. No partner is required. Open to all ages and abilities. Light refreshments will be served, wear soft soled shoes and loose fitting clothing, and be prepared for great energy and smiles!
