FUNdamentals Of Dance: Argentine Tango With Ralph Tuttila (7:00 pm - 8:30 pm)
Argentine Tango is passion and attitude, starting with posture, dance hold, feeling and walking tango rhythms. This continued beginners series will focus on basic moves, so students are ready to dance tango confidently. We will review material from the earlier class. Class is open to new students and some experience would be helpful, but not required.
Mastery of style and subtlety of interpreting the music are stressed, but Ralph believes tha dancing, being a social experience, first and foremost should be fun.

Tapestry is putting the "fun" in its new FUNdamentals classes which feature a different style of dance each month. These lessons are perfect for beginners and also help address fundamentals for experienced dancers.
• All ages and skill levels are welcome• No partner necessary• The sessions will build sequentially for each series, but you are alsowelcome to "drop in" for any individual class• Live music is provided for classes in September & October• Pay for all sessions at first class and receive a free pass to any dance

Daytime Dance-Equatorial With Jamie Berg (1:00 pm - 2:30 pm)
Equatorial Dances from warm places
Jamie Berg finds herself especially attracted to dances from these regions-perhaps because she lives in Minnesota. She has been dancing for 26 years and teaching 12. Come learn a gentle dance from Tahiti. In Hawaii, E. Huli is a peaceful hula that encourages you to love life. Pata Pata is a popular dance from South Africa. We'll also learn dances from Mexico, India, Spain, Bolivia, the Phillipines, and may "go a bit northward" to Italy for Neopolitan Tarantella to heat up the blood!

Learn ethnic dances from around the world including dances from Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Armenia, Scandinavia, France and England. Dancers can try out most dances by following the leader. The dance instructors rotate every few weeks with a wide variety of talented and experienced teachers.
Request Dancing (Fridays, 9-11:30pm): After Int'l Folk Dance & Beginning Int'l Folk Dance sessions, join us at 9pm for Request Dancing at no extra cost and practice your new skills along side other dancers!

The New Riverside Ramblers band brings high-energy Cajun dance music from prairies and bayous of south Louisiana up the Mississippi River to the Minneapolis-St.Paul, Minnesota area. The band's compelling version of Cajun French music blends many influences from different south Lousiana communities and includes two-steps, waltzes, and blues. The members of the band have been immersed in Cajun music for many years. They have studied and performed with Cajun music greats such as Dewey Balfa, Tracy Schwartz, Steve Riley, Marc & Ann Savoy, DL Menard, Eddie LeJeune, Calvin Carriere, Lionel Leleux, and others.

This program is designed for both new and experienced dancers, adults college-age and up, who want a daytime option to dance and enjoy other people who also like to dance. We’ll go around the globe, from March – June.

International Folk Dance: Discover heritage and dance roots! Learn ethnic dances from around the world including dances from Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Armenia, Scandinavia, France and England. Dancers can try out most dances by following the leader. The dance instructors rotate every few weeks with a wide variety of talented and experienced teachers.

Dancers can choose dances taught both recently, or any time since the beginning of Tapestry, since they are alphabetically listed in a notebook available to dancers - so what gets requested is a mix of old and new. There are dances from every continent, and the most-requested dances are from eastern European countries like Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Greece. We also do Israeli dances, and couple dances from (western) Europe and the Americas - but you don't need to bring a partner.

Contra Dance-Danebodium With Caller Beau Farmer (7:30 pm - 11:00 pm)
2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturday Contra Dances
Time: 7:30-11pm
Beginner walk-through lesson 7:30-8pm. Live music from 8-11pm! Admission cost (at the door): $10 general /$8 for members / $7 high school & college students FREE admission to kids ages 13 and under (must be supervised by an adult)
In a contra dance, the dance figures are similar to those of Old-time square dancing except the figures are made up of lines of leaders and followers facing each other. Many of the regular Tapestry contra bands play Old-time music (similar to bluegrass), but the music on any given Saturday contra may reflect music traditions from New England, French Canadian, Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton and modern compositions.
First Thursday Contra Dances The LGBTQ Community & Friends welcome all to a Gender-Neutral Contra Dance every first Thursday of the month. Time: 7-10:30pm in Tapestry's large dance space Dance basics are taught 7-7:30pm. Live music from 7:30-10:30pm! Admission cost at the door: $10 general /$8 for members / $7 high school & college students FREE admission to kids ages 13 and under (must be supervised by an adult)

English Country Dance (7:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
English Country Dance: Every Sunday! Time: 6-9pm First Sundays with live music, 7-9pm all other Sundays Cost: $5 with recorded music, $7 with live music Beginners are welcome and no partner is necessary. English Country Dances are co-sponsored by Woven Ring English Country Dance. Dances are taught by Mary Kay Schladwiler and/or George Ehrenberg
The first Sunday of the month includes a live music ensemble and a longer dance (a total of 3 hrs instead of 2 hrs), and a higher admission fee. Time: 6-9pm Cost: $7
English Country dances are elegant social dances from the 17th and 18th centuries, danced to Baroque and Early Music.
